A typical system configuration is equipped with a Microsoft IIS server. A virtual private network (VPN) server connects the development team to the system remotely. The VPN also allows users to oversee plant operations from remote location.

Utilizing this configuration allows users to access the system over the facility's intranet, while keeping all the PLCs and process equipment on a separate isolated network. TagsCollector acts as an interface between the two networks and limits each user's access to the system. A customer-controlled VPN connection allows for remote access to the server for both users and administrators.
